It's hard to really rate this book..I enjoyed it ok but could have enjoyed it more...the epilogue's lol yes more than one...I enjoyed those more than the whole book....I didn't like how there wasn't much development of the relationship till the end of the book, also I needed more character development..I did enjoy the little girl in the book, she was so precocious I just wish that the other characters in the book were as developed...it would have flowed better...the villains in the story were just left behind-the-scenes..at that certain spot in the book, no more mention was made about them..I like all that stuff finished off, you know how you like those to get there just desserts? Yeah it don't happen only once in the book & there were three.. granddad had his come to Jesus moment & fell under Cece's unrelenting adorable magic..but I wanted the female snake to get hers!Overall good story...Will I read again? No
Would I recommend to friends? Depends on the friend & if it's a rainy day & free then yeah sure give it a try..I've read way WAY worse..

I liked the story it was really a good story, but it was just slowwwww it took me a while to get interested and when I did I kept losing interest I felt like it could've been sped up but the story was a good idea
The more I read he more i got annoyed. This book reads extremely slow and has very little interaction with the two leads.there is also a lot of outside drama that distracts you from the main love story. I really wanted to like this book because the interaction between the main lead and the daughter are adorable but with all of the other characters and jumping points of view I was board and lost at times.
5 stars. I absolutely loved reading Unlikely Allies. The story was filled with so much emotions and a lot of love. And family meant everything to Maggie and Rick. It was sweet to watch them fall in love, and Cecelia was just so lovable and adorable, and boy did she have fun with her gum. This is a must have buy it you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to reading the sequel.
This is my first book by this author and I wasn't disappointed. Cece is absolutely adorable. Rick is so good with her. Rick and Maggie's relationship was a slow burn but it was well worth it. I enjoyed the whole cast form Emma to Matt. I like when a book has a great epilogue and I loved that the author showed years down the road and Cece all grown up and meeting her match!!! I would enjoy seeing what happens with Cece and Carter!!!
This book had a lot of potential. It really needed a heavy edit. It was very long with much of the story a bit disjointed. What I absolutely loved about this book was the epilogues. I loved having a window into the world of this family...especially the daughter.
Maggie was determined to give Cece her and happy and loving childhood after her ex went to prison and never claimed her sweet baby girl. Starting over in a new state and new life along with her sister's help. Enjoying life and he new job she e never thought her Daughter would befriend and become attached to a CEO the likes of Rick Stone. Rock's only goal is to make his Father happy at running the company left to him. His life didn't have time for a real relationship but a cute little red headed 5 year old names Cece stole his heart the minute she walked into his office and her Mom Ma too. With her troubles behind her or she thought running from love was the last thing she thought would wander in her life. Can she fight the pull she has for Rick and can Rick pull his head out the fog to see the life waiting for him in the family he never thought he wanted. Grab this a amazing book.
I wanted to like this book so much more, but in the end I just couldn't give it more stars. The sample I got drew me in, I'm a sucker for the non settling down guy and along comes a kid), but once I started reading the story was more about the daughter and less about building the relationship between the two main characters. There were times I would get lost in the story, whether it be jumping around in dates, or doing a past conversation/memory thing, it ended up coming across as confusing and unorganized. I also felt like the same point was being repeated over and over again, I found myself skimming through pages when certain characters would talk about the same things. Overall not a horrible story, but just unorganized and drawn out
